The Del-One Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that was formed to raise funds for charitable purposes, specifically the purpose of benefiting the residents of Delaware . The Del-One Foundation chose Code Purple as a 2017 initiative, and will work with this organization on events and fundraising activities. Event and activity updates will be posted here as the dates become available.
Over $47,000 was donated to various charities in 2016, including, but not limited to, those listed below. Funds were raised through Foundation member dues, selling candy and license plate frames at the branches, employee "jeans day" contributions, and by hosting the 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament which raised over $9,000.
Kay's Kamp - A camp which provides children ages 5-17 currently battling cancer and those now in remission the opportunity to participate in a unique camping experience promoting fun and normalcy - free of charge. A total of $10,000 was raised and donated to this cause! In March, the Del-One Foundation partnered with Tri-Sports Events and Wild Quail Golf and Country Club for the Shamrock Scramble 5K Run/Walk.
Clothing Our Kids - A total of over $9900 was donated to this cause in 2016, which included a sponsorship for their annual golf tournament in October. Members and staff of Del-One also collected and donated over 15 bags of clothing! This organization's mission is to "improve the lives of at-risk elementary school children by providing them with essential school clothing".
Grace for Dover - Embrace Program - This group focuses on assistance for families with children with disabilities, and $2500 was donated to this program.
Caring Hearts Helping Hands - A check for $2500 was donated to this organization, which assists low income working families.
Paws of Tomorrow - This groups goal is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately re-home abandoned, stray, and neglected animals within the local area. A total of $2500 was donated to this cause.
Kind to Kids Foundation - A check for $2500 was donated to the Kind to Kids Foundation, an organization that helps to make "dreams come true for children who are victims of child abuse, neglect, and poverty" within the foster care system of Delaware.
Pets Enriching Troops - Their mission is to "increase morale, foster positive relationships and responsible pet ownership, and prevent pet abandonment by providing therapy pet services, education, and resources to military personnel and their families". A donation of $2500 was made as a part of the "Name a Puppy" sponsorship.
A.C.E. Peer Resource Center - A.C.E. stands for Acceptance, Change and Empowerment. This organization creates "opportunities for individuals and family members to effectively respond to the challenges of mental health conditions" through: advocacy, direct support to individuals, training and education, information and referral, and technical assistance.
Shepherd Place - A total of $2500 was donated to this organization; a family shelter in Dover that provides housing, case management, food and other basic needs at no cost to those who need them.
Code Purple - This organization, organized and staffed by volunteers, provides a safe, warm shelter and hot meals to individuals and families who are homeless. The Del-One Foundation donated $2500 to this cause.
Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition - A check for $2500 was donated to the DBCC, which serves to raise awareness of breast health issues in Delaware through outreach, education and support to help facilitate early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
