The Del-One Foundation will present the 21st Annual Shamrock Scramble 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at Wild Quail Golf and Country Club to benefit Kay's Kamp. Register online for this event at www.trisportsevents.com or click here for a registration form.
Funds raised for this organization provides trained therapists for emergency response during and after traumatic events, training to expand the network of responders, and sponsorships to those that want to become certified and help and carry out their mission.
This organization helps support the Delaware Food Bank as well as school food pantries throughout Delaware. Children who eat more nutritious meals are less likely to miss school, have fewer behavioral problems and perform better in school. The Harry K Foundation addresses childhood hunger on all fronts - hunger after school, during the summer and on the weekends.
Their mission is to transform students' understanding of community health by matching them with individuals living with chronic illness in meaningful, helping relationships. Community members receive in-home support and, in turn, educate next-generation health leaders about the experience of living with chronic illness.
Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club in Camden-Wyoming, DE. It was a great success, and nearly $11,000 was raised to benefit local Delaware charities. Please check back soon for updates on an event for 2019.
Charities Supported in 2018
Over $44,000 was donated to various charities in 2018, including those listed below. Funds were raised through Foundation member dues, selling candy at the branches, employee "jeans day" contributions, and by hosting the 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament which raised nearly $11,000.
Kay's Kamp - A camp which provides children ages 5-17 currently battling cancer and those now in remission the opportunity to participate in a unique camping experience promoting fun and normalcy - free of charge. A total of $10,000 was raised and donated to this cause! In March, the Del-One Foundation partnered with Tri-Sports Events and Wild Quail Golf and Country Club for the Shamrock Scramble 5K Run/Walk.
Exceptional Care for Children - The first and only pediatric, skilled nursing facility in Delaware - a state-of-the-art residential healthcare facility serving technology-dependent children and their families. The Del-One Foundation was a presenting sponsor for the 5th Annual Sheldon Shuffle 5K event in September, and donated a total of $5000 to this amazing organization.
Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity - This organization works to transform lives and revitalize Kent County communities by building and repairing quality homes in partnership with families in need. The Del-One Foundation support their Builder's Dash 5K Run/Walk in April & the Hammer Down Motorcycle Ride in June. The 6th Annual Blackjack to Build event, originally scheduled for September 2018, was postponed due to bad weather and will be rescheduled in the Spring of 2019. In all, the Foundation donated a total of $5,000 to this worthy cause.
Sussex County Foster Parent Association - Their mission is to aid, enrich and educate foster families in Sussex County, Delaware to help children in their care meet their full potential. The Del-One Foundation participated in and supported their Back to School event in August, and donated a total of $5,000 to this amazing organization.
Additional funds were raised and donated to causes including Autism Delaware, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Doggone Happy Animal Rescue, Delaware Hospice, Delaware KIDS Fund, Heroes Self Defense Foundation, Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival Inc, Easter Seals, American Heart Association, Mom's House of Dover, Boys & Girls Club of Delaware, Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities, & Rescue for the Misunderstood.
